Cops are annoying to say the least in Schedule 1. You can see them on the road in their uniforms, and they respond pretty quickly if you are committing a crime such as pickpocketing.
But the biggest issue for most players is when the police stops you from random searches. In such cases, if you have anything on you like a weapon or one of your amazing recipes, cops are going to arrest you.
The best thing is to avoid the cops by keeping your distance but if for some reason they have started to chase you down, there are 2 ways to get rid of them.
Your Heat Level is influenced by:
- Selling drugs in public
- Getting spotted by cops while carrying drugs
- Committing violence (assault, car accidents, shootings)
- Breaking curfew
How to Get Rid of Cops and Stay Out of Jail in Schedule 1
As I said, there are two ways to do this:
- Hide
- Use Cheat Code
- Use a Car
- Fight Back
- Use Unmarked Safehouses
#1: Escaping the Police
You should make fast turns into alleys to break visual contact with police officers. The “Under Arrest” meter starts to decrease when you are no longer in view which shows you are close to escaping the cops in Schedule 1.
Look for containers or garbage bins that have covers. Jump into a container if you can reach it without being detected then use it to hide. Knowing the locations of these hiding spots will help you escape quickly.
The police chase will end immediately when you enter your house or apartment unless they witnessed your entry.
The police will not detect you if you stay outside their light cones. Moving at a slow pace or staying low to the ground when near police officers decreases your visibility.
Tip: Facing away from police officers during gameplay makes them less likely to detect you. Additionally, blocking the police station steps with a car can reduce patrols.
#2: Use Cheat Code
If you’re looking for an easier experience, you can use the console command setlawintensity 0 to disable police presence. This command ranges from 0 (no police) to 10 (maximum intensity).
If you are already wanted, use lowerwanted 0 to remove all wanted levels.
#3: Use a Car
If you own a car, which you should, it will give you a huge advantage over the cops. Cars allow you run over fences or escape out of the district faster. However, if you hit a dead end, you are done!
#4: Fight Back
This is not the best plan but it does work if you have a clear escape plan. Resist with weapons if there are only a few cops you can handle and then escape before the back up arrives.
If and when you kill a cop in Schedule 1, your heat level goes to Wanted: Dead or Alive. The police will no longer try to arrest you. So you need to have an exit plan if you’re willing to use force.
#5: Use Unmarked Safehouses
When you break vision / line of sight with the cops, run into one of your unmarked safehouses. Stay inside until your status resets but this method:
- Useless if a cop sees you go in
- Works great at mid-level heat
