The world of Abyssus mostly revolves around endless dungeon crawling, where players come across different Vaults and Chests that often require keys to open. At times, you will find keys while exploring the dungeons, but mostly you will have to get them yourself.

If you are wondering where to find keys in Abyssus, then continue reading this guide. I have explained from where you can get these keys and then how to use them to open Chests or vaults. I saw most guides online only mention two ways to get these but there are actually 5 ways to get keys in Abyssus.

5 Ways to Get Keys in Abyssus

Loot Keys from Chests

Opening a Chest in Abyssus has a 20% chance of dropping a key. Along with the keys, you can also get your hands on Gold and Charm with a 10% and 5% chance, respectively. Hence, the more Chests you open in one expedition, the higher the chance to get keys. Chests are the best way to get keys without spending gold.

Purchase Keys from Merchants

There are numerous merchants in the game that sell keys for Gold. Gold is not that rare in the game, and the supply is maintained by killing enemies, getting Golden Vases and looting Chests.

The keys you get by trading Gold will be used to open Chests and Vaults, that often provide valuable items like artifacts and boons.

Drops from Enemies

This happens very rarely, as only a few enemies drop keys in Abyssus. However, it is possible to get keys from enemies.

Through Soul Wheel Perks

An easy way to get keys in Abyssus is to unlock the ‘Starting Funds’ Tier 2 Perk in the Soul Wheel with the help of Soul Fragments. It gives players 1 key and 50 gold upon starting each run. If you upgrade this perk, you can get 2 keys on each run. This is a great way to get quick access to Chests and vaults.

Play in Cooperative Mode

Another excellent and quick way to get keys in Abyssus is to play in cooperative mode. When your team loots a Chest during a run, each player will get a different reward. It means that a team with more players has a better chance of getting keys.

How to Use Keys in Abyssus

Keys in Abyssus are consumable items, and players cannot keep them in inventory or carry them to the lobby. If not used until the end of a run, the keys will perish. When you find a locked Chest or a vault door, press E to open it, and you will be able to loot what’s inside.

If you are playing as a team, one player with a key can open a Chest or a vault for the entire team, and each player will be able to get rewards, as I already mentioned above. For example, if a vault contains items like Chest, Forge Altar, or Boon Altar, all of the players can get these items without paying for them.

But for the items that are sold by Merchants, each player will need to purchase them separately with their Gold.

Playing in cooperative mode is often regarded as one of the best and quickest ways to get keys in Abyssus. So, make sure you plan a run with your friends when looking for keys.
