It looks all the financial troubles and acquisition rumors haven’t impacted future Assassin’s Creed games.
Eight months have passed since Ubisoft first launched Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This entry, being the first in the series to be set in Japan, marks the latest RPG outing from the IP, launching to plenty of excitement. At the same time, there have been many questions about the future of Assassin’s Creed.
Between potential remakes, a multiplayer title, and Assassin’s Creed Hexe, work on various new titles is already underway. Adding to this list, the Clawsomegamer team has found a job listing which suggests Ubisoft Quebec, the lead developer behind Assassin’s Creed Shadows, has secretly begun hiring for its own brand new Assassin’s Creed project.

Ubisoft Quebec currently has two open positions for a new Assassin’s Creed project. After careful inspection of Ubisoft’s job listings, we know that these two job listings have only recently popped up. Moreover, they don’t appear to be related to other games like the multiplayer Assassin’s Creed title, which are explicitly named in their respective job listings.
The Quebec City-based Ubisoft studio is currently looking to hire an Animation Director and Character Technical Director for the Assassin’s Creed project. According to the listing, the Animation Director will work on characters, environments, and objects within the world.
“You’ll shape the overall animation vision for the game and bring your team of animators together around it.” – Ubisoft Quebec Job Description
On the other hand, the Character Technical Director will work on modeling characters for the project. While neither job listing reveals too much detail about the game, it does make sense for Ubisoft Quebec to begin planning its next big Assassin’s Creed title at this point, since Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been out for a while.

The team is also working on post-launch Assassin’s Creed Shadows support for now and is expected to launch more content after the recently released Claws of Awaji DLC. Work will likely be split between the two games moving forward, but the bigger question is whether Ubisoft Quebec will make another RPG or shift focus to a completely different style of game.
For reference, this same team previously worked on games like Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Odyssey. On the other hand, Ubisoft Montreal has led the development of major releases like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla. The latter is currently said to be working on Assassin’s Creed Hexe, and it appears Ubisoft Quebec has also found its next major project.
