In The Outer Worlds 2, mostly the quest requires you to find certain locations on something or the other, compression coils are one of them. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack. That haystack happens to be the map of Goldenridge in Outer Worlds 2. The first five compression coils are somewhat easy to get, but you seem to get lost with the remaining ones.
Collecting these 15 Compression coils is part of the collectible quest, Hazard A Gas. The Hazard A Gas quest is given to you by Medicalist Cormier at the Outpost Opportunity to restore their offline AutoDocs to treat wounds.
You can also choose to skip the quest, as it’s not important to further advance in The Outer Worlds 2.
All 15 Compression Coils Locations in The Outer Worlds 2
First, fast travel to the outpost opportunity and head straight into the corporate climber. You’ll see a man not feeling well and vomiting.
On his left, there is Sr. Contract Medicalist Cormier; talk to him to do something about that man. He will ask you to find compression coils. Without these coils, they can’t heal the soldiers.
Compression coil Location #1 (South of Outpost Opportunity)
The first compression coil in The Outer Worlds is easiest to get because the quest marker is going to show you exactly where it is, south of the camp where you started the quest Hazard A Gas.
Compression coil Location #2 (North of Outpost Opportunity: Rocky Ridge)
For the second one, go north from the outpost. From the end of the trench, you will see a road ahead of you. Follow the road upwards from there. For reference, have a look at the images below.
Just when the light purple grass ends, head to your right and climb up.
From there, head straight and climb again until you see a huge crystal in front of you. There are two dead bodies of soldiers, one towards its right and the other to its left. Go left and climb up from where the second dead body of the soldier is.
On the other side, to your left, there is a dome ship under which you will find the second Compression Coil in The Outer Worlds 2.
Compression Coil #3 & 4 (Fort Endurance: Gas Zone Pod)
Now fast travel to Fort Endurance at Golden Ridge. You will get two compression coils from this location.
Descend from the Fort Endurance mountain and follow the road as mentioned in the reference image given below.
Keep in mind that this place is full of gas, so don’t forget to equip a good gas energy deflection apparatus. Straight up, ahaed you will find the land pod behind the stone memorials kind of thing.
The landing pod is covered in hazardous gas, so just quickly turn on the gas deflecting apparatus and run to get the third and fourth compression coils and get out of there.
Compression Coil Location #4, #5, #6 (Crystal Cave Mines)
Again, at Fort Endurance, you will get three more compression coils, located south of the fast travel point.
From that location pointed on the map, you will see a crystal cave, head into it. But be aware of the land mines.
Follow the path until you see a landing pod in front of you. There will be three compression coils: one to the left of the landing pod, beside a dead soldier and two inside the landing pod.
Compression Coil Location # 8 (Extractor Facility)
To get the 8th compression coil in The Outer Worlds 2, fast travel to the Decommissioned Autonomous Extractorium.
From the main entrance, go around all the way to your right until you can see mining machinery in front of you. From that machinery, go right and follow the path to the left.
To your left, there is a narrow path between two tents leading to the landing pod where you will find the eight compression coils.
Compression Coil Location #9 & #10 (High Crystal Ridge)
Go to the train station and follow the railroad leading uphill until you reach a point where the path splits near a hive-like structure. From there, turn left and continue climbing upwards. Go around and then jump across the gap to return to the railroad.
Compression Coil Location #11, #12, #13 (Alexandra Train Station)
Fast travel to Alexandra Train Station and go around the station from either side. After you reach an opening, turn left into an area full of spiders. Continue your journey by staying to the left rock wall.
Compression Coil Location #14 & #15 (Matriarch’s Mercy)
Finally, fast travel to the Matriarch’s Mercy to collect the last two compression coils in The Outer Worlds 2 and also complete the quest Hazard A Gas.
From the main entrance of the Matriarch’s Mercy, turn right and go straight ahead from the purple forest by staying on the left side.
Continue moving straight until you see a small crate on the ground, from there look left and you will see another one. Just in front of the second one, you will see a landing pod.
Inside that landing, you will get the last two compression keys.

After collecting all 15 compression coils in The Outer Worlds 2, go back to Medcalist at the outpost, and you will get the following rewards after you give her the compression coils:
