While there are a range of different items in each weapon category, Dying Light The Beast only gives you two grip mods for your weapons. Grip mods are passive and can be used on different melee weapons to increase damage, and add durability.
However, not every weapon in the game has a Grip Slot but most melee weapon do. Swords and machetes benefit from grip mods the most in Dying Light The Beast. Also keep in mind that named legendaries don’t support Grip Mods but regular melee weapons at any rarity do.
Grip Mods are passive, they work exceptionally well when combined with more situational mods. A weapon with Reinforcement can be paired with elemental Tip mods to create a long-lasting crowd-control tool, while Empowerment pairs well with high-impact builds focused on eliminating enemies as quickly as possible.
| Mod | Effect | Trigger | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reinforcement | Permanent durability increase | Passive | Taurus Gas Station Dark Zone in Industrial Zone West |
| Empowerment | Passive damage increase | Passive | Taurus Gas Station Dark Zone in region label varies (Villa Area East / The Vale) |
