Assassin’s Creed Hexe is expected to mark Ubisoft’s next big release for the flagship franchise. Hot off the heels of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, this entry is set to take the series to an era with themes of witchcraft and endless mysteries.
Although official information regarding the title remains sparse at the moment, it has been confirmed that Benoit Richer is leading development of the project as the game director.

Over on LinkedIn, Benoit Richer notes that he is currently the game director of Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Benoit Richer previously worked as game director on 2013’s Batman Arkham Origins, and his experience with Ubisoft dates back to 2007. Over the years, the director worked on titles like Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
He then joined Ubisoft Montreal, the team currently in charge of making Assassin’s Creed Hexe, in 2017. Previously, the developer also worked as the game director on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, showcasing his experience with Ubisoft’s biggest IP.
Elsewhere, franchise veteran Darby McDevitt is said to have returned for the project after working on various past entries as the narrative director. Needless to say, Assassin’s Creed Hexe appears to be in good hands, judging by the staff alone.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe is expected to arrive at some point in the next two years. Initial news regarding the project was broken by Ubisoft many years ago in 2022, so the title has certainly had an extensive development cycle by now.
Between the encouraging staff, huge development cycle, and unique premise, there is undeniably a lot to be excited about when it comes to Assassin’s Creed Hexe. The title is also expected to be different from the traditional RPG style of the series, offering something fresh for fans fatigued by the IP in recent years.
