Running on the Snowdrop engine, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora provides an excellent action-adventure experience that is much closer to Crysis. However, ultrawide display users are experiencing issues with the game, which includes cutscenes playing with black bars on the sides. In this Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora guide, I will tell you how to fix the cutscenes on ultrawide monitors.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Cutscene Fix for Ultrawide Monitors

As I mentioned earlier, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora cutscenes don’t work as they should on ultrawide monitors. You will be met with black bars, which ruin the fun. To fix this, you will have to go through a series of steps, which I have mentioned below:

  • Download and open HxD and then press Control + O.
  • Choose the Game’s exe (”afop.exe” \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\AFOP)
  • Press Control F and navigate to Hex Values (on top, not text strings)
  • Activate Search direction forward and search for the first 39 8E E3 3F hex value (you will find it at the offset 034CB620 on the left side).
  • Change the 39 8E E3 3F value with the value of your resolution (I have listed them below).
  • On the top left, save it where the normal exe is, changing it with the old one.
  • Change the in-Game Resolution and the aspect ratio in the settings.

Hex Values

  • 2560×1080 = 26 B4 17 40
  • 3440×1440 = 8E E3 18 40
  • 3840×1080 = 39 8E 63 40
  • 3840×1440 = AB AA 2A 40
  • 3840×1600 = 9A 99 19 40
  • 5120×1440 = 39 8E 63 40
  • 5120×2160 = 26 B4 17 40
  • 6880×2880 = 8E E3 18 40
  • 7680×2160 = 39 8E 63 40

If you followed everything correctly, then Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora cutscenes on ultrawide monitors will be fixed. Did this fix work for your Ultrawide monitor or did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments.
