Assassin’s Creed has changed significantly over the years. From its inception as a series focused on historical action-adventure titles with modern elements to a slew of RPGs, the series has a completely new identity today compared to when it first arrived on the scene.
In fact, the series’ latest crossover sees the IP collaborating with Attack on Titan for a quest many have described as nonsensical. Bayek’s voice actor has also joined the discussion, calling out the latest quest.

Abubakar Salim delivered an excellent performance as Bayek in 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins and continues to admire the franchise to this day. The voice actor has even talked about returning to the series for a potential second outing with Bayek.
Discussing the Attack on Titan crossover, Abubakar Salim referenced the time Assassin’s Creed Origins crossed over with Final Fantasy seven years ago. However, he believes Assassin’s Creed featuring Titans from the popular anime makes even less sense.
What is up with the Attack on Titan Assassin’s Creed? I thought the FF and Origins mashup was mad but this is whacky. -Abubakr Salim
Of course, Ubisoft’s flagship IP is no stranger to sci-fi and over-the-top elements. Recently, the series has featured battles against mythological creatures like Anubis and Cyclops, but Attack on Titan’s giant creatures highlight a completely different style of monsters that stand out from the series’ main themes.
This is especially relevant since Assassin’s Creed Shadows, at least at launch, was more grounded compared to the last three RPGs.
Nonetheless, Ubisoft has recently defended the addition of such microtransactions, stating that they allow the team to offer free updates and interesting content. As such, it seems the Attack on Titan event is only the beginning for Assassin’s Creed’s crossovers moving forward.
