God of War Ragnarok on PC and handhelds isn’t the best running game I’ve seen but overall, with the right tweaks you can get a decent experience out of it.

Asus ROG Ally X and Ally run the game pretty well, with different graphics settings you can average around 40 to 50 fps in GoW Ragnarok but with frame gen on you can touch 60 and even go beyond that with lower resolution.

I will share multiple graphics settings with you, each has a different performance output, and, in the end, I will recommend the best one.

The base low / medium settings for this game on Asus ROG Ally X and Ally will remain the same, mostly. The difference will be in resolution and FSR.

1080p FSR Balanced No Frame Gen

best GoW Ragnarok1080p graphics settings for Rog Ally X and Ally.

I ran the game on FSR 3.1 Balanced and the handheld itself was running at 25W with 8GB VRAM allocated.

On average, God of War Ragnarok ran at 45 fps and had occasional drops into the low 30’s.

720p FSR 3.1 Quality No Frame Gen

Best 720p settings on Asus ROG Ally X for God of War Ragnarok

With FSR 3.1 Quality and no Frame Gen if you locked the game’s resolution at 720p you’ll get 59 fps on average and occasional drops into mid 40’s.

Run the game at 25W and 8GB VRAM allocated. You can also use 900p resolution with the same settings if you can sacrifice a small percentage of the frame rate.

1080p FSR Balanced Frame Gen On

Best graphics settings for Asus ROG Ally X with frame gen on for God of War Ragnarok

If high frame rate is your goal than I recommend going with 1080p FSR Balanced with Frame Gen on. This will sometimes even push you into the 80-fps range on Asus ROG Ally X, not so much on ROG Ally but you can still hit the 60-fps mark easily.

Best Settings for God of War Ragnarok

Go with 1080p FSR Balanced Frame Gen on for Asus ROG Ally X and 720p FSR Balanced Frame Gen on for Asus ROG Ally.

These are the best settings when you combine them with my aforementioned low/medium preset.
