Grounded 2 is still in early access and only came out a few days ago, but there are already a bunch of great mods you can use to improve your experience. From quality-of-life improvements to total gameplay overhauls, the modding community has been hard at work expanding what’s possible in Obsidian’s tiny survival world.
Even though the select is limited for the time being, I’ve compiled a list of best Grounded 2 mods for you. In this guide, I’ve rounded up the best Grounded 2 mods currently available on the internet. You’ll see everything from companions, UI adjustments, and engine optimizations. And don’t forget, we also need more storage space and large stack sizes!
#5: Better Storage Mod

Increasing storage capacity is always a challenge in Grounded 2. A lot of resources are required, and often you need to take down powerful enemies for those resources. The best thing to do here is to use the “Better Storage” Mod. It’ll increase your inventory space to either Bigger or Huge.
- Bigger: slightly bigger storages (tier 1: 20 -> 30, tier 2: 40->50, tier 3: 60->70) and fridge (20 -> 40)
- Huge: 20 -> 50, 40 -> 60, 60 -> 70 (fridge 20 -> 70)
And optional module to increase pallet stacks by 10 times, for tier 1: 21/24 -> 210/240, for tier 3 60/60 -> 600/600. According to the creator of the mod, animation for pallets will stop working after the 24th unit. However, the pallet will function as expected but without any animation in Grounded 2.
#4: Definitive Engine Tweaks

Grounded 2 is built on Unreal Engine 5, so issues are expected. We tried fixing some of them like the Bluetooth audio problem. However, if you need a definitive engine tweak system to improve overall stability of the game, then I recommend using the Definitive Engine Tweaks mod.
The mod helps improve FPS, fix visual bugs, and enhance graphics beyond what the in-game settings allows you to do.
- Three distinct presets: Epic Visuals, Visuals & Balance and Ultra Performance.
- Unlocks hidden Unreal Engine 5 settings for finer control.
- Optimized for high performance without sacrificing core visual identity.
- Reduces stutter by enabling proper PSO caching and threading settings.
- Intelligently configured for modern GPUs.
#3: Better Buggies

There are two buggies in the game right now; Orb Weaver and Red Soldier ant. But using this mod your buggies will start recruiting more than one ant at a time, allowing you to build a massive ant army in no time.
Your red ant companion can now recruit more than one ant at a time, with the recruitment cap increased from 10. The recruitment range has also been doubled for better efficiency.
All buggies now have an increased hauling capacity, up to 99 units per stack (or double the vanilla limit if you’re using the Optional Files).
Buggy stats have been slightly improved:
- Max run speed increased from 600 to 800
- Max health boosted from 200 to 320 (matching a wild worker ant)
- Jump height has been slightly increased as well
#2: Increase Stack Size

The “Bigger Stacks” mod allows you to increase stack size to x999 or x100 or x2 vanilla values.
- Increases all resources stack size to 999.
- Increases all resources stack size to 100.
- Increases stack sizes to x2 of vanilla value (e.g. basic resources 10 -> 20)
#1: HUD Scaler

The HUD Scaler mod doesn’t exactly what the name suggests. It allows you to adjust the scale of the HUD from large to small or vise versa. You can tune the HUD scale the way you want which is great for different screen sizes and resolutions.
