The Fallout franchise has been brimming with life ever since its Amazon TV series debuted to an explosive reception. Since then, demand for a new game has become more prevalent than ever, with fans rallying together for more game-related content.

Although Bethesda continues to update existing titles with new content, rumors regarding older titles receiving remakes and remasters have also been making the rounds for a while. The latest report claims that both Fallout 3 and New Vegas will eventually be remade.

Fallout 3

This report comes from Jez Corden of Windows Central. He notes that Fallout 3 Remake will eventually arrive from Bethesda. According to the insider, this re-release will be of similar scale to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, which took the series to Unreal Engine 5.

Contrary to what the title may suggest, Oblivion Remastered was more than a typical remaster, offering a visual upgrade on par with most remakes. As such, fans can expect similar treatment for Fallout 3 in the coming years. The report also outlines Fallout New Vegas as a candidate for this treatment.

It seems that Bethesda’s mind is already made up, and both games will be remade. When these titles will be released is anybody’s guess for now, but the remakes are now a question of when, not if.

On the other hand, the report outlines that Fallout 5 has been greenlit at the studio. Clearly, Bethesda is going all in on the series following its successful Amazon debut, potentially leading to expedited development for the next mainline title.

Discussing other Xbox first-party titles, Jez Corden also shared information on titles like Hellblade and Wolfenstein, suggesting that plenty of gears are turning within Xbox’s internal teams.
