Capcom has become the industry’s leading studio when it comes to remaking existing titles and breathing new life into them with top-notch visuals, modern gameplay elements, and storytelling on par with the latest industry standards.
Currently, Capcom’s remake efforts have been focused largely on the Resident Evil IP, with multiple big remakes becoming fan-favorites soon after release. Fans have also demanded the same treatment for other IPs owned by the Japanese publisher, and the studio’s latest report suggests plans for more remakes are already in motion.

In its latest annual report, Capcom noted that it owns a wealth of IPs besides the likes of Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter that are incredibly popular. In particular, the Japanese publisher named Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney as key examples.
The report stated that Capcom plans to expand its user base by leveraging such IPs. As per the report, the publisher plans to make ports, remakes, and new entries for these IPs. This, of course, is significant since the remakes have largely been reserved for Resident Evil so far.
Recent rumors have also hinted at the existence of a potential Devil May Cry remake, so the annual report could certainly be a teaser of things to come. On the other hand, Capcom has already ported various Mega Man and Ace Attorney titles to modern hardware, as it outlined in the report.
In the former’s case, Capcom has announced the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection for 2026. Similarly, Ace Attorney saw the launch of the Apollo Justice trilogy last year.
Devil May Cry, however, is more interesting since it has yet to receive a big re-release or compilation since the fifth mainline entry. Because the series has seen such a massive resurgence following the Netflix adaptation this year, it would be the perfect candidate for a potential remake, should Capcom choose to go this route.
Nonetheless, the studio now seems interested in pursuing remakes for IPs other than Resident Evil. This focus could even lead to a potential Dino Crisis remake, something fans have wanted for the longest time.
