Resident Evil: Requiem is the 9th entry into the main Resident Evil series and while its main protagonist is already confirmed to be Grace Ashcroft, there are still plenty of rumors going around of some members of the original cast returning, especially Leon.
But it seems as though Leon might not be the only one returning. A curious update on the game’s Resident Evil Requiem’s IMDB page is now fueling speculation that one of the franchise’s veterans, Chris Redfield, is returning and with a brand new voice actor.

The IMDb page for Resident Evil: Requiem lists Tomasz Karolak, a Polish actor known primarily for his work in film and television, as the voice of Chris Redfield.

While this is exciting news and it is always great to dive into speculations and rumors, all part of the hype train, yeah? But is a user-editable database and even though changes must be approved by the website before they show up, it is still best to be a bit skeptical when it comes to IMDB listings.

It’s also worth noting that Chris has historically been voiced by actors such as Roger Craig Smith, David Vaughn, Jeff Schine, and Kevin Dorman across various Resident Evil titles. Tomasz Karolak has no prior record of video game voice acting, which raises further questions about the accuracy of the IMDb listing.
But in my opinion, Chris coming back to RE9 makes more sense than Leon. In Resident Evil Village, Chris saved Rose and she grew up to be a fed, just like Grace Ashcroft.
It is possible, and very likely that both Rose and Grace know each other or at some point come in contact to head to Raccoon City. In that case Chris joining the party won’t be surprising at all.
Leaker Dusk Golem confirmed earlier that Capcom only showed a very small slice of RE9. He insists that Leon is a part of the game but is Chris too? We’ll see in the coming months when marketing truly kicks off.
