It’s safe to say that Crimson Desert is one of 2026’s most anticipated releases. In a year with big names like Resident Evil Requiem and GTA 6, Pearl Abyss’ action-adventure title has managed to catch everyone’s attention, and many are convinced the team will not disappoint.
Perhaps it comes as no surprise, then, that the game is already showing signs of success before its official release. At the time of writing, Crimson Desert is among the best-selling titles on Steam.
The Steam Global Top Sellers list shows that Crimson Desert has now eclipsed various titles to become the 2nd best-selling game on Steam. It currently stands above the critically acclaimed Resident Evil Requiem. The game has even managed to surpass Marathon, Bungie’s first major release in many years.
Second only to Slay the Spire 2, Crimson Desert is expected to stay on the Steam best-sellers list throughout the upcoming week. Moreover, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the game reach the top spot in the coming days due to the buzz surrounding this release.
Keep in mind, however, that this list does not factor in free-to-play titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Overwatch. Doing so would push Crimson Desert to the 6th spot overall, but this is still quite impressive all things considered.
What makes Crimson Desert’s current position on Steam so impressive is the fact that it also falls in the top 5 most-wishlisted games on the platform. Having secured over 3 million wishlists on the platform, the game is on track to become a huge release for Pearl Abyss.
Elsewhere, reviews from the media are due next week. If the reviews are as positive as many expect, the game will likely soar to the top of the best-seller charts across all platforms.
