Dune Awakening allows players to build their own bases and since there are PvP elements involved, the game has a structured, tiered permission system for handling who gets access to your base; and how they interact with it. Elements such as doors, equipment, storage, and more can be locked or freed up for other players.

All of this is done through a permissions system that controls security and collaboration.

All Permissions Levels in Dune Awakening

LevelWhat it Does
Owner (1)Full control; only you (the base owner) have this level. Can manage all settings and permissions.
Co-Owner (2)Same permissions as the owner, including managing other players and making significant changes. Reserved for your most trusted allies. Multiple co-owners are allowed.
Associate (3)Limited access; can interact with certain areas but cannot manage or make major changes to the base.
Guild (4)All guild members can access, but their capabilities depend on their assigned roles within the guild.
Public (5)Anyone on the server can access. Use with caution, as this opens your base to all players.

How to Set Permissions in Dune Awakening

Set Permissions in Dune Awakening

To set permissions you first need to make sure you are the owner of the base. Then go to the Sub-Fief Console in your base. It is usually near the main entrance or central area. It operates as a hub for managing base ownership and permissions in Dune Awakening.

Interact with the console (typically by holding F) and navigate to the “Permissions” tab. Here, you’ll see a list of players and available roles. Look for “+” icon and click it to add players to your base’s permission list. You can them a role, Associate by default, Co Owner, or set a broader access for Guild or Public.

Through the same menu you can demote and promote players as well. Only the Owner of the base can assign or change these roles.

To grant or revoke access to a specific item in your base, go to the item and hold F to manage it. In the management menu go to General Settings > Access level to select desired permission level for that item in Dune Awakening.

Only grant Co-Owner status to highly trusted players, as they have full control.

I highly recommend not using Public Access because it is too risky for most players. If you do use it, make sure to monitor your base and permission levels to prevent griefing and theft. Moreover, only give co-owner status to players you trust the most.

Guild Access is recommended because it gives access without full control to others.
