Battlefield 6 shattered all expectations last year and became the series’ biggest launch to date. In 2026, however, audiences are not as happy with the game. As criticisms regarding map design, content updates, and more begin to pile up, the first-person shooter is no longer the unanimous hit it once was.
Recently, fans also spotted AI-generated artwork in Battlefield 6, creating further contention regarding the title. Less than a month after this AI artwork was first spotted, the team at Clawsomegamer has identified a new job listing from EA. This listing specifically aims to implement generative AI and machine learning technology into Battlefield’s development.

EA Motive Montreal is looking to hire a Software Engineer (AI & ML) for Battlefield as part of the Battlefield Long Range Technology team. It is said that this position requires an understanding of AI solutions for game features.
As EA puts it, the hired Software Engineer will implement machine learning components that directly enable key game features. The job listing also discusses the use of generative AI to boost game development efficiency for the future.
“Apply established data science and machine learning modeling techniques to Battlefield features and live services.”

Whether these types of hirings from EA will lead to more AI-generated content in Battlefield 6 or future games is anybody’s guess for now, but recent discussions related to the series certainly hint that this will be the case.
Most AAA studios in the gaming industry are attempting to make use of AI tools to streamline development, so it doesn’t come as a major shock that EA is doing the same. In fact, the publisher has previously noted that it intends to push its teams toward artificial intelligence.
Since EA Motive is also working on a AAA Iron Man game at the moment, these AI tools could also make their way into the studio’s single-player project. Needless to say, the next few years will be quite intriguing for EA’s teams as they work toward unified AI integration.
