Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is not really a game where you get to find a lot of collectibles and rewards but there are some chests you can unlock for special loot. These chests are called Paint Cages and each region in the game has a handful of Paint Cages for you to find an unlock.
You can get items such as Tints and Pictos among other things via Paint Cages. The great thing about Paint Cages is that they are not tied to any main or side quest which makes them location based collectibles.
Each cage is locked and to open it you need to find three glowing locks in the nearby environment. Once all three locks are destroyed the cage will open.
In this guide, we will discuss the locations of two Paint Cages you can find in Stone Wave Cliffs.

Stone Wave Cliffs Paint Cages
There are two Paint Cages you can find in this area.
Paint Cage #1

The first Paint Cage in this area is near the Expedition 78: Entrance Flag. Go past the flag and find the Wreckage of Expedition 78. Stick to the right wall until you see a rope you can use to climb up.
When you climb up, the cage should be to your left. However, you need to shoot three glowing locks before you can access the cage.
- Lock #1: Behind the cage
- Lock #2: Climb up the structure to the left of the cage. Look at the floating broken stones/ pillars to spot the second lock.
- Lock #3: Take the rope on the right of the cage to climb up. You can spot the last lock above the cliff structures.

Paint Cage #2
The second Stone Wave Cliff Paint Cage can be found in the Old Farm area near the Expedition 78 Flag. Stick to the left wall from the Expedition 78 flag.

- Lock #1: Stand in front of the cage and turn around. Up to the right on the cliff you should see a lock.
- Lock #2: To the right of the paint cage there is a cliff you can stand on. Stand on the cliff and then look past the skinny tree in the middle to find the lock.

- Lock #3: Go down the main path where you will fight some enemies. Go behind the enemies to the path on the right. You should spot a Paint Cage lock behind wooden planks.
That’s everything you need to know about finding both Paint Cages in Stone Wave Cliffs.
