In Fantasy Life i, you will find a range of fishes but it only the Legendary fish that are the most sought after. Legendary Fish spawn at specific locations and a lot of them appear only as Fish Shadows. So catching them becomes a bit tricky since you can’t actually see the name of the fish.
But I guess it’s a good sign if you spot a Fish Shadow because then it is most likely a Legendary Fish. Below I’ve compiled a list of Legendary Fish and their locations for you.

How to Catch Legendary Fish in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
To start catching Legendary Fish or any other fish for that matter, you need to join the Angler Life. Visit the Guild Office and choose the Angler Life to unlock fishing abilities and quests.
The next step is to start looking for a location to fish. Look for fish shadows in bodies of water like rivers, lakes, or the ocean. These shadows indicate the presence of fish. I’ve already shared the list of Legendary Fish above so they should be easy to find for you.
If you are playing with a controller, use the analog stick to select a direction and press the attack button. If you hit the sweet spot, you’ll see a “!!” indicator, resulting in more effective reeling. The goal is to totally deplete HP of the fish.
Caught fish can be:
- Sold: Earn money by selling fish at markets.
- Cooked: Use fish as ingredients in various recipes to restore health or gain buffs.
- Used in Quests: Some quests require specific fish, so keep an eye out for these opportunities.
