Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s second anniversary is quickly approaching, and many are now anticipating the finale of Final Fantasy 7’s Remake trilogy. Although official word from Square Enix has yet to arrive, the good news is that the final entry in the trilogy might arrive a lot sooner than initially expected.

In fact, in a recent video interview, the game director has teased that much of the development has already been completed.

In an interview with Julien Chieze, Naoki Hamaguchi discussed the current progress of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3. He explicitly confirmed that the core gameplay experience has been completed, leaving the team with the task of entering the refining phase.

Naoki Hamaguchi later stated that he hopes to bring the RPG to players as soon as possible, but the team is carefully testing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 to iron out any remaining issues before it shares official details with players in the coming months.

“The core experience is almost complete, and we’re in the phase of polishing it.” – Naoki Hamaguchi

For context, Square Enix previously released the second entry in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy four years after the series’ debut. However, the director’s latest statement suggests that players won’t have to wait nearly as long for the trilogy’s finale.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is also expected to launch as a multi-platform title following Square Enix’s new strategy. Therefore, director Naoki Hamaguchi will have an all new audience to impress with the third part of this highly revered series of remakes.
