Oshima Coast, a late-game area of Ghost of Yotei that you can only unlock after following all the missions of the main quest. Getting here is not as easy as it sounds, as progressing through the story can take a lot of time.
The Coast of Oshima is one of the final major regions you’ll unlock in Ghost of Yōtei. Many players get stuck trying to reach it early, but the area remains inaccessible until you complete a key set of story quests.
How to Get to the Coast of Oshima in Ghost of Yotei
Before the gate opens, you must finish the primary storylines in the following regions:

This area is located south of the map. Follow the main story of Chapter 1 until you start the Yotei Six main tale. Before you can access the Ohima Coast region in Ghost of Yotei, there are some requirements that you must meet.
- Complete the Kitsune quest and eliminate the Kitsune.
- Complete the Oni main quest and eliminate the Oni.
- Progress through the Saito Brothers’ main quest and kill the Saito Brothers.
The Saito Brother quest starts in the Teshio Ridge during the Yotai Six- Main Tale 5 quest, which involves you having to interrogate civilians or bounty hunters in Yotei Grasslands. Once you have done that, you will be met with the option to select the specific main tale information.
Learning Moves with Odachi
Pick the Saito Brothers to move on to your next objective, finding Master Yoshida’s Dojo near the Horosaru Falls. Reach there, and you will get to train with him and learn various moves using the Odachi weapon.
Now, the objectives keep rolling in, this time requiring you to follow Master Yoshida and eliminate Saito’s enemy forces. Remember the Odachi weapon, which you temporarily got earlier? At the end, it will become permanent in your weapon arsenal.
Your next objective on the Saito Brother questline will be “Meet Jubei and Oyuki at the Oshima Coast Gatehouse.”
Reaching the Gatehouse
Reach the gatehouse to meet Oyuki, and keep following the upcoming objectives until you rescue Jubei. At last, you will get the objective: Enter the Gatehouse. Follow this objective to unlock Tanegashima. Battle Saito’s forces and escape the fort to unlock the Oshima Coast.
Once you get to the Oshima Coast region, you will also find a Cartographer at Matsumae Residence. I suggest that you should buy their regional maps as they highlight Altars of Reflection and points of interest you haven’t discovered yet.
The process of unlocking Oshima Coast is pretty tedious, but it’s required to complete the game, so we don’t have a choice. After unlocking this region, it’s a matter of time until you complete the game.
