Mutations are perks the player can get from completing different challenges throughout Grounded 2’s world. Some mutations in the game are upgradeable by doing certain objectives or progress to the next level of the game.
Grounded 2 starts with only two mutation slots, but you can increase the number of available slots to a max of 5. You’ll need Milk Molars to unlock new mutation slots. If you can swap out mutations manually or create Mutation Loadouts to quickly change your builds in Grounded 2.

Grounded 2 Fighting Style Mutations
Fighting Style Mutations in Grounded 2 represent one of the most meaningful forms of long-term progression and personalization in Grounded 2. Each mutation caters to a specific weapon type and promotes weapon loyalty. Using a weapon long term will max out its mutation phases, making it more powerful as you progress.

Grounded 2 Combat Abilities Mutations
Combat mutations aren’t tied to a specific weapon type like the fighting style mutations. But they still add a deeper layer of mastery. Unlike weapon-based mutations, Combat Abilities are about how well you play, not what you play with. They reward mastery, situational awareness.
