There have been plenty of discussions revolving around GTA 6 since its latest delay. Now set to arrive on November 19, 2026, Rockstar Games’ upcoming behemoth of a release has been pushed back to ensure it comes out in the best state possible.

This delay also means that a PC port is now further away than initially expected. However, there may be a silver lining in this situation. According to a leaker, GTA 6 may come to one more platform than initially expected. It is said that a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the title is being worked on.

GTA 6 Port For Nintendo Switch 2

According to Nash Weedle, work on a Nintendo Switch 2 port of GTA 6 is in progress. To nobody’s surprise, this version of the game won’t arrive in 2026, and if Rockstar Games’ history is anything to go by, it will likely show up after the much-anticipated PC port.

The leaker also states that this port was not the reason GTA 6 was recently delayed. The most interesting part about this leak is the fact that GTA 5 has yet to show on the Nintendo Switch 2. However, with Red Dead Redemption 2 expected for the platform, there is a chance GTA 5 will follow suit before the eventual GTA 6 port.

Although GTA 6 would certainly be a welcome addition to Nintendo’s library of games, we recommend taking this news with a slight pinch of salt until more leakers corroborate the story. Nash Weedle’s track record has been hit or miss, but he did accurately reveal work on Elden Ring and Assassin’s Creed for the console all the way back in 2024.

Therefore, it would not be entirely surprising to see this scoop come to fruition. In the past, GTA 5 has been quite popular on handhelds like the Steam Deck, so GTA 6 would likely find plenty of success on the Nintendo Switch 2 if Rockstar Games pursued an official port.

Recent games like Star Wars Outlaws have also shown how well Nintendo’s latest hardware can handle AAA games with proper optimization and tweaking. As such, it will be interesting to see how well a potential GTA 6 port performs on the Nintendo Switch 2.
