The Graphics Hardware Error is one of the main issues, aside from crashing at launch, Hades 2 is facing on PC. There are two fixes that are proposed by the community and I have tested them myself to see the results.
The first fix, where you update the graphics drivers, works if your GPU drivers hasn’t been updated in a long time. The second fix is more suitable for those who already have the latest GPU drivers; disable your Steam Overlay or GeForce Overlay.
Fix #1: Update GPU Drivers
This is basic fix; update your GPU driver. Here are the download links:
- NVIDIA Cards[www.nvidia.com]
- AMD Cards[support.amd.com]
- Intel Cards[downloadcenter.intel.com]
While your at it, also verify file integrity.
Fix #2: Disable Steam And GeForce Overlays
Here’s how you turn of Steam Overlay:
- Open Steam.
- Click on the “Steam” menu in the top-right corner.
- Select “Settings”.
- In the left sidebar, click on the “In-Game” tab.
- Uncheck the box that reads “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.”
- Click “OK” to confirm the changes.
Here’s how to turn off GeForce Overlay:
- Press Alt + Z on your keyboard, whether in a game or on your desktop.
- In the GeForce Experience in-game overlay, click the Settings button on the right.
- Scroll down to Notifications.
- In the General notifications section, click the switch for “Open/close in-game overlay” to turn it off.
