Xbox has a lot planned in terms of first-party games for 2026. Between Fable, Halo, Forza Horizon, and Gears of War, practically all of the company’s biggest IPs will be active at some point during this year.

While the gaming giant has already shared release targets for both Fable and Forza Horizon 6, it has yet to do the same for Halo and Gears of War: E-Day. The good news is that a new report has narrowed down their release windows, stating that both titles are still on track to launch later this year.

As reported by Tom Warren from The Verge, Xbox is currently planning to launch Halo: Campaign Evolved during the summer of 2026.

Since this remake of the first game is meant to be a celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, many expected Xbox to launch the title on November 15, 2026. Unfortunately, this date would have put the remake in direct competition with GTA 6.

Xbox and Halo Studios have undoubtedly taken GTA 6’s release timing into consideration and landed on a summer 2026 launch window. Elsewhere, the report reiterates that Gears of War: E-Day is still coming later this year, potentially targeting the second half of 2026.

Although Xbox did not suggest this was the case, some thought Gears of War: E-Day’s absence from the recent Developer Direct was a sign of a potential delay to 2027 for The Coalition’s upcoming title. Many also argued that the game would be perfect as a next-gen launch title for the upcoming Xbox console in 2027. Anyhow, it seems this is not the plan, and the game is still coming later this year.

As a reminder, Fable is coming in Autumn 2026, and Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19. Therefore, if the report is to be believed, Xbox is spacing out the four big first-party releases throughout the year quite well.
