Since the game’s launch, players have voiced their frustrations about being kicked from lobbies unfairly, especially after completing missions and collecting valuable samples.

This issue has been a frequent topic on forums and the official Helldivers Discord.

One user on Discord succinctly asked if players could retain 50% of their collected samples if they were kicked unjustly, to which Arrowhead’s community manager, Twinbeard, responded that a solution is indeed in the works, though no specific timeline was provided.

We’re actually working on a solution to mitigate problems with, well, “getting kicked by an a***hole lobby leader” as someone once eloquently put it. No ETA on that, but it’s coming.

Arrowhead has teased an upcoming “big patch” that promises to address various gameplay issues and potentially introduce new content. While the pace of updates has slowed, the developers are looking into adding highly requested features, such as more emotes and possibly the inclusion of the Illuminate alien race.

Proposed Solutions

The community has suggested several solutions to the problem of unfair kicks. A popular proposal is to allow kicked players to keep a portion of the samples they collected during missions, similar to the system used in Deep Rock Galactic, where kicked players retain 25% of their collected resources.

Additionally, some players have proposed implementing a reputation system that matches players based on their behavior, ensuring that trolls are paired with other trolls, thereby reducing the impact on the general player base.
