FromSoftware has no shortage of hits on its hands. Whether it be Elden Ring or Dark Souls, the studio has become synonymous with high-quality releases, making its way among the biggest teams in the industry.

Among FromSoftware’s titles, Bloodborne is considered a fan-favorite for millions of gamers. Bloodborne’s status as a PlayStation exclusive has perhaps given the game more attention than other titles from the studio, and even director Hidetaka Miyazaki considers the game special.

Bloodborne

Speaking to Game Informer (as reported by GamesRadar), Hidetaka Miyazaki recently discussed exactly what makes Bloodborne so special for him and everyone else at the studio.

He noted that the PlayStation title’s development continues to reflect the most challenging development cycle of any production the team has undertaken to date. Hidetaka Miyazaki then discussed how much of the Gothic Souls-like game reflects his own personal values and preferences.

According to the FromSoftware director, the gameplay, narrative, and world-building in Bloodborne are all strong reflections of his ideas. This is something the director continues to appreciate about the title, even when compared to massive hits like Elden Ring.

“Bloodborne is a special game for me. I’ve imparted a lot of my own ideas into this game.” – Hidetaka Miyazaki

As Bloodborne approaches its 11th anniversary, demand for a remaster also remains higher than ever. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki has previously expressed interest in seeing the game return to the spotlight again, and his latest comments shed more light on why this is the case.

Although there is no official word on a remaster or remake, fans remain keen on hearing more from PlayStation. Rumors regarding a Bloodborne re-release have been making the rounds for a while, giving fans some hope to cling to as they wait for official word.
