Rosaries are the in-game currency of Hollow Knight Silksong. You need them to make purchases from different merchant NPCs you encounter. In this guide, I will tell you the locations of the merchants, as well as how to get Rosaries.
There are several ways to get Rosaries, like attacking Rosary Beads and Rosary Strings hanging from ceilings, from Rosary mounds, mad pilgrims, stashes, defeating specific enemies, and on dead insects hidden around the Silksong’s world.
Best Locations to Get Rosaries Easily in Hollow Knight Silksong
Below, I have discussed some locations that are guaranteed to reward you with a good amount of Rosaries.
Location #1:
- Find Pebb’s locations and follow the path on the right side. He can be encountered at Bone Bottom.
- Jump over the platform you see and keep going in the same direction until you reach the top.
- Keep following the path on the right side.
- You will encounter 2 platforms. Jump on the first platform, followed by the 2nd one.
- Keep following the path to the right side until you find a small drop.
- Jump down and on the right side, you will find a wall, which you can break, leading to a room with Rosariers.
- Quickly loot from this dark room and make sure not to get hit by the three falling rocks.
Location #2
Another place to get rosaries in the early game is The Marrow. Head from the Moss Grotto (starting area) to this area in the east. You will know that you are on the right track when you come across a large vertical map with platforms that disappear.
After reaching the top, take a left. To the west, you will encounter Shakra. Ignore her and keep walking. Jump upwards and take a left. You are now in Mosshome.
You can find a lot of rosary beads in the nooks and crannies of this region. What makes this place even better is that the local enemies here drop +5 rosaries.
That’s not all, kill the poisonous snails and the jumping bugs, and continue your journey to the west. By using the mechanisms on the western wall, you can drop and get even more rosaries. Take the upper pathway in the east until you find the resting bench next to Shakra’s location. This is where the farming actually begins.
Kill all the enemies and collect the rosaries they drop. By resting on the bench, they will respawn again. You know what that means: keep doing this process for infinite rosaries. Also, buy Shakra’s map items while you are at it.
Location #3:
Here’s one more spot to get rosaries. This one is in Greymoor, which can be unlocked after completing the Drifter’s Cloak in Deep Docks or after completing the Flea quest. From the entrance of Greymoor, go left, and you will encounter a resting bench. Why pay 80 beads for that when you can just head right instead and visit Shakra in the next room?
There will be a Pilgrim Bellbearer, Pilgrim Groveller, and Pilgrim Pouncer here. Beyond them will be a Pilgrim Guide, one more Bellbearer, and another Pouncer waiting to greet you.
Kill all of them, and you will get around 40 Rosaries. Now, take a left and you will find a Halfway Home. Guess what? The entrance on this side will be locked.
You can unlock this by pressing the button, which you will find by entering from the left side. Now, you have quick access to an OP Rosariers farming location. Kill the Pilgrims and rest. Repeat this process, and you will have a huge amount of Rosariers in no time.
Best Rosaries Farming Location in Hollow Knight Silksong
- Head to the bench just left of the Marrow Bellway.
- In the first room down, you’ll find a Pilgrim Groveler and a Pilgrim Pouncer.
- Clear both enemies, return to the nearby bench, rest to reset, and repeat.
With this farming method you can get 20 Rosaries per minute with no upgrades in early game. If you have Silkspear and Silkstep upgrades you can get farm about 40 to 50 Rosaries per minute in Hollow Knight Silksong.
Lastly, if you have Thief’s Crest equipped you can get as much as 70+ Rosaries per minute.
How to Use Rosaries in Hollow Knight Silksong
Now that you have Rosaries, what are you going to do with them? Let’s find out.
You can use your Rosaries to buy items for Pebb and Shakra’s shop. I have explained their location above. I strongly suggest that you first buy the maps from Shakra before anything else.
You will need to travel between several points a lot during your Silksong. For that purpose, unlocking Bellway stations is crucial as they serve as fast travel points.
First, you need to defeat the Bell Beast, who can be found at the top of The Marrow, just right of the sign with three arrows. Follow these types of signs as they can help you locate the next Bellway station. Keep progressing through your Journey, and you hit the point where these travel points will start costing Rosaries.
Throughout your journey, you will encounter resting benches, which serve as checkpoints. To buy them, you will need Rosaries. These are crucial to unlock, as who knows when you will meet your death.
How to Get Back Rosaries After Dying in Hollow Knight Silksong
After dying in Silksong, you will realize that your rosary beads are gone. Worry not, as you can recover them by returning to where you died and destroying the cocoon containing your lost items. However, if you die again before recovering your items, they are lost forever.
I suggest that you exchange your Rosaries for a Rosary String at Pebb’s store, as then they won’t get lost after death. Later, you will encounter machines where you can craft the strings on your own for 80 Rosaries.
