In Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, you play across four villages, Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring, inspired by four seasons. To keep the villagers happy and grow the community relationship, you do different tasks, one of which includes arranging a contest for the villagers.
These village contests also test the players’ skills on different levels. So, the question is how you can start a contest in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma?.
I will guide you step by step on how you can arrange a village contest, where you will find the ledger and some tips and tricks, so that you don’t cancel the village contest by mistake.
How To Start a Contest in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
In Rune Factory, every village has its God’s shrine. Head to the God shrine and find the ledger to arrange the contest.. It is not necessary to stay in the same village to start the contest, which means you can start the contest in Winter Village by opening a ledger in Summer Village.

Ledger Locations For Each Village
Spring Village Location:
On the left side of the Altar after entering the shrine.
Summer Village Location:
The summer village ledger is just to the left of the shrine when you enter the Altar.
Autumn Village Location:
The ledger for the autumn village is easily visible once you enter the shrine in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma.
Winter Village Location:
On the left side of the entrance door, the ledger is just in front of you in Winter Village.
Once you approach the ledger, interact with it by pressing A on the switch and E on PC, and the menu for scheduling the contest will appear. From the menu, you can arrange contests for villagers, see previously scheduled events and also see the happiness level from the ledger menu.
Select a suitable date for it from the screen. You can select weekend dates for the contest because the villagers are free on weekends.
After selecting a date, next you will select the type of contest that you want to arrange for any village in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. For reference, I have attached the image below.

There are a total of 8 contests that are available for the villagers in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
- Harvest Contest
- Cooking Contest
- Quick Meal Contest
- Curry Contest
- Freshwater Fishing Frenzy
- Saltwater Fish Contest
- Pound Smelt Catch Contest
- Squid Catch Contest
After selecting the contest type, go to the same village God’s shrine where you have scheduled the contest and submit your entry before 5-7 pm (same contest day). You will be disqualified if you don’t submit your entry. Attend the ceremony and talk to the Host between 8:00 to 9:00 am, which is mandatory; otherwise, the contest will be cancelled.
After talking to the host (elder/priest), the event will officially start and submit your closing entry before the deadline, normally it is around 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Rewards After Completing the Contest in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
Once the contest is finished, you will receive awards in the form of gold, any items or seeds. The contest will also give a boost to villagers’ happiness.
