I wish I could tell you that befriending monsters in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma is a quick and easy process, but it is not. It requires the barn, the correct materials, and knowing what it takes to tame each monster in the game.
If you’re committed to befriending every monster in the game then this guide will help you do exactly that.
How to Unlock the Barn
The first step is to unlock the barn in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma. You need to play the game until you reach the Autumn Village. It takes a while before you get to this point but when you do, Yachiyo and Kurama will give you a task to befriend a Buffamoo.
When you successfully befriend Buffamoo, Yachiyo will give you the barn recipe. The barn can then be crafted with 35 Lumber and 15 Material Stone. You can then unlock a Large Barn after reaching level 5 in Autumn Village.
The quest will explain how to befriend monsters but below is a complete-detailed explanation for you.
How to Befriend Monsters
Equip the Sacred Treasure Plum Branch by holding E and select it from the Wheel. Approach the monster you want to befriend and perform the Dance of Bonds until you see a smiley face on the monster’s head.
When you see the smiley face on its head it is time to tame it / defeat it. Use regular attacks until the Monster’s HP reaches 0. The next move is to approach the Monster and pressing F to interact with it.
The game will give you the options to “Befriend with a Gift” or “Send back to the First of Beginnings.” You must know which gift works on the Monster you want to befriend.
Furthermore, some monsters will require more than one gift to fully tame it.
Caring for Befriendded Monsters
Monsters you befriend and tame will be available at one of the Barns you set up in Development Zones. The best way to take care of Monsters is by assigning one of the villagers to do the job for you. Open the Villagers Menu and select the Villagers from the same village and assign them to the barn. The job assignement is called Herding.
With the job assigned they will make sure the Monsters are properly taken care of.
