Hatchery plays a major role of the navigation in Grounded 2. The hatchery is where you incubate eggs to create ant companions and also get the two buggies currently available in the game; Red Soldier Ant Buggy, and Orb Weaver Buggy. In this guide, we will go through everything you need to know about crafting the hatchery in Grounded 2.
There are three main crafting materials required to build the hatchery, and before you go out finding them, make sure to healing items, and consider upgrading inventory slots to carry more stems in fewer trips.
Hatcher Crafting Recipe
To build the Hatchery, you’ll need the following materials:
- Mite Fuzz
- Weed Stems
- Acorn Tops & Shells

Mite Fuzz is dropped by Red Mites in Grounded 2. These creatures are commonly found around the Snack Bar Ranger Outpost. You can find them inside the tunnel that unlocks the outpost door (part of the story) and also outside the outpost where they often roam around.
For Weed Stems, head east of the outpost towards the KBB2 News Camera landmark. Around this area, you’ll spot plenty of dandelion-style weeds.
- You can only carry five at a time, so plan for two trips unless you have an upgraded carrying capacity.
- Use an axe to chop the weeds down.
- You’ll need six stems total.
Lastly, Acorns are also around the Ranger Outpost: Snackbar.

This location is frequently patrolled by Orb Weavers, which are much tougher enemies. So the best thing to do is get in and out as fast as you can if you’re not strong enough yet.
Once you have all the crafting materials, you’ll be able to craft the hatchery in Grounded 2 at one of your bases. Craft it and place at your base to start incubating eggs.
