Dune Awakening is a game where trading, buying, and selling items is at the heart of everything. Dune Awakening comes with a dynamic economy that allows players to buy, sell, and trade items with the game as well as with each other.
The economy is both player and NPC merchant driven. So why I thought why not give you guys a rundown on how the game’s economy works, and how you can use to it to make some money.
How Dune Awakening Economy Works
Dune Awakening’s economy stands on two pillars; buying and selling to vendors at the Trading Posts, and Trading at the P2P Exchanges called CHOAM Exchange.
Here is a breakdown of the buying, selling, and trading system of Duke Awakening.
Method | Location | With Whom | What You Can Do | Key Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Trading Post Vendors | All major regions | NPC merchants | Buy/sell basic items | Prices vary by supply/demand |
CHOAM Exchange | Arrakeen, Harko Village | Other players | Buy/sell/list items, set prices | 2,500 Solaris fee or Ornithopter required |
Specialty NPC Shops | Social Hubs | NPC vendors | Buy rare/unique items | Limited stock, rotates frequently |
Buying and Selling Items with NPC Vendors
NPC Vendors are where you sell or buy items you like. There is no trading possible at the NPC merchants because they only deal in Solari.
NPC vendors are at the Trading Posts all over the map. Their locations are marked on your map so many of them are inside starting zones too. In total there are 6 NPC trading posts across all three maps of Dune Awakening where you can buy and selling items.
Moreover, Trading Posts often have contract boards for jobs that lead to other trading opportunities in neighboring regions.

P2P Trading (Trading with Other Players)
P2P trading is exclusive to the CHOAM Exchanges in Dune Awakening. There is no Solari involved in most of the cases here so you can trade items with items if other players have listed what you want.
The Exchange or CHOAM Exchange are Social Hubs and are player run markets in Arrakeen and Harko Village. There are two ways to get to Exchanges.
- Use a Taxi NPC at any Trading Post (look for the Ornithopter hologram) for a fee of 2,500 Solaris
- Fly yourself using an Ornithopter once you have one
Inside these exchanges find the Sale Terminal where you can buy and sell items to other players. There are two sections, Buy and Sell. Browse the Buy section to see items listed for sale. Meanwhile, the Sale section is where you can list your own unwanted items for Sale.
Social hubs also feature specialty shops with rare or high-tier items not found at regular trading posts, such as unique schematics and advanced vehicle parts.
Any item you want to sell at the Exchange must be inside your inventory, not in the Storage somewhere so carry those items with you. NPC and Players markets both are impacted by Supply and Demand principles, so prices change frequently.
