Unlike previous Monster Hunter games you can switch weapons mid-hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds. This is something that was not possible before.
On your hunts you can now bring two weapons from the pool of 14 new weapons, and 91 weapon combinations.
How to Set Primary and Secondary Weapons in MH Wilds
Before you can start switching weapons you need to set your primary and secondary weapons in the game.
Go to your camp’s tent and access the Equipment menu. Select “Change Equipment” to see the list of all available weapons.
Assign one weapon to your primary and another to your secondary. Set weapons based on the strengths and weaknesses of the monster you are facing. Here are some tips:

How to Change Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
To change weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds, you must first configure your loadout at camp and then use your Seikret mount mid-hunt for real-time swapping. Press “X” on PC or “Right D-Pad” on Console to switch to your weapon.
What you need to keep in mind is that switching happens in real time. It takes 2 seconds to switch your weapons which means you are vulnerable to attacks while the swap happens. If you are on Online Single Player Mode, you can pause the game.
However, your Seikret can perform mounted attacks during swaps for mobility. Moreover, armor skills adjust automatically match your equipped weapons.
