In Pokémon Legends Z-A, keeping your Pokémon happy and the friendship level is a stat that helps in levelling up your partner. It allows the Pokémon to evolve to its higher form.
But the game doesn’t point towards how you can keep track of your friendship with Pokémon or how you can increase your friendship with them fast. Here’s how you can do this in Pokémon Legends Z-A.
How to check Friendship in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
The feature of checking your friendship level with Pokémon is not available at the start of the game. To unlock this feature, you need to complete the side mission 025 ” Troublesome Patrons”.
As part of the side mission, you need to clear the troublesome patron who needs to get Tasty Trash from Fumi and lead three Trubbish to the garbage bins in the alley outside of the Cafe Pokemon-Amie, which is located in the Megneta sector.
Complete the side mission and return to the cafe. Look for a woman (An NPC character). You can easily identify her as a dialogue box appears on top of his head, saying :
I can tell if the Pokemon gets on well with the Trainer!
Talk to her, and she will ask, Let me see how friendly your Pokémon are towards you?. The Pokémon menu will open if you choose to have a look at it. Select any Pokémon that you want to check your friendship with Piokemon Legends Z-A.
After selecting the Pokémon, she will tell you how friendly your Pokémon is towards you; mine was Fairly Friendly.
How to increase Friendship in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
To increase the friendship level with your Pokémon, multiple ways are available. The most common ones are
- Keep them in your party and utilise them in battles
- Giving them items like experience points, candy, iron, protein, or berries will also help in increasing friendship
- Have Coffee with them at any cafe.
One of the fastest ways to level up your friendship is having coffee with them 4 to five times in a row to get them evolved right away.
Apart from this, there are certain Pokémon that evolve through a higher level of friendship

Out of all the above, four of them can actually Megaevolve in Pokémon Legends Z-A. These are Pikachu, Clefairy, Roselia, and Lucario.
