A lot of Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds have fire attacks that end up burning you. The burning status effect also known as Fireblight is a damage over time status effect. It is a debuff that can cost you the fight.
There are two ways to fix the Fireblight status effect, you either use certain types of consumables or go with my tried and tested trick to get rid of it and save your consumables.
How to Cure Fireblight in Monster Hunter Wilds
When your character catches fire, perform two or more dodge rolls to extinguish the flames. Three is usually the sweet spot for getting rid of fireblight.
If you’re next to a water source, just rolling through a puddle can be just as good — water puts out the flame right away.
You could also reliably go with a Nulberry.
It is a handy consumable that instantly cures the burning status effect. In addition to removing that nasty Fireblight, it can also counter a wide range of other elemental debuffs including Waterblight and Iceblight, making it a fantastic thing to have in your bag for all those nasty fights.
How Fireblight Works
When you are hit with this status effect, your health will gradually decrease until you act. Things like the visual indicators (your character becoming engulfed in flames) help you identify the status effect early on. Also keep an the health bar as it drops.
Fireblight can range in severity and duration. Certain armor sets and food buffs confer a higher degree of fire resistance, which may decrease how intense and how long the effect lasts.
For example, equipping armor with a high fire resistance attribute can greatly reduce your odds of getting severely burned, as well as the duration of the effect.
