How to Beat Subject C10 in Slay the Spire 2?
The boss has 3 phases, with each one requiring a unique strategy. Here is how you can beat Subject C10. You might want to check out best cards for Ironclad to help you create a build that easily beats Subject C10 in Slay the Spire 2.
Phase 1

In the first phase, the boss will become enraged, meaning each time you play a Skill card, the boss will gain 2 Strength. It starts with 20 attack damage, so your best bet will be to just tank the hit and deal a lot of your own damage. Block Potion and Fortifier are lifesavers here, as by equipping yourself with them, you can focus on dealing damage without having to worry about defence.
Remember, using block cards can increase the boss’s Strength, so be careful. You will just have to deal with the first hit, as there won’t be a second one, considering the boss has 100 HP.
Phase 2

When the boss gets to the second phase, it will have Painful Stabs. What this means is that each time you receive unblocked damage, a Wound card is shuffled into your discard pile. Reliable block generation will win you this phase. The problem here is that even 1 unblocked damage can mess with your card draws, meaning you will have to go either full defence or none at all.
Be careful, as Test Subject’s damage will reach as high as 30, so quickly take it out before it eats away at your cards.
Phase 3

When you get to the last phase, the boss will give itself Nemesis, which makes it Intangible every other turn, starting with the first. Don’t panic, as I can assure you this phase is simpler than the 2nd one. When it’s intangible, keep your focus on blocking and applying debuffs to set up for your attacks. It’s suggested that you tank the hits of the second and fourth turns, if you have enough health for it.
Although Test Subject’s damage will increase even more, going up to 40, you can reduce its damage output with cards that apply Weak and Vulnerable, and keep yourself on the safe side.
And that’s how you defeat Test Subject C10 in Slay the Spire 2. I hope that you found this guide helpful. For more on the game, also see our other guides for Slay the Spire 2 that will help you bosses and find the best cards for your character.
