There’s no end to the number of unique bosses in Slay the Spire 2, one being Vantom. In order to defeat it, you will have to make correct card choices throughout the whole fight. Ironclad and Silent are pretty good against this boss. If you are having trouble defeating Vantom, then this Slay the Spire 2 guide has got you covered.
Vantom in Slay the Spire 2
Vantom deals a ton of damage, so you will have to understand how you can tank some of its early hits and focus on blocking in Turn 3 and Turn 2. Certain Ironclad builds might be able to help you defat Vantom in Slay the Spire 2.

With the Vantom’s 9 damage, you will also have to deal with its Slippery effect, which causes all your attacks to deal only 1 damage for 9 instances of attack. To get rid of this annoying effect, you can use Strike or other low-cost, low-damage attacks. Only defend when required, as your main focus will be to set up heavy attacks.

In your next turn, Vantom’s tail will grow in size and come one step closer to your character. This will increase the damage, but our main focus should remain the same.

This is where things start to get a little tough, as the tail will grow and deal over 25 damage. Now, you will need to draw cards that give you as many Blocks as possible to negate the attack. Now’s the best time to use Block Potion or Fortifier, that is, if you have any. Instead of blocking, we can also try attacking with Lucky Tonic to deal heavy damage.

On the 4th turn, Vantom will buff itself and repeat the same attack pattern. Now’s the best time to deal your damage. After this turn, it will keep repeating the same pattern, dealing more and more damage each time. Just get your hands on a Lucky Tonic from the merchant if he is selling one, and you will be good to go.
That’s how you defeat Vantom in Slay the Spire 2. If you are having trouble fighting with any other boss, then you may check out our site for more Slay the Spire 2 guides. I hope that you found this guide helpful.
