Mushtroll is one of the secret bosses in Absolum. It is hidden in a cave near the start of the run and beating it gets you some early Inspiration upgrade that helps your character build. Beating him isn’t required to progress in the game because this is an optional boss fight in Absolum.
Tip: Grab the Chicken companion in the pre-boss room if it spawns, interact to recruit it. This tank draws aggro from minions and the boss, staying nearly invincible.

Mushtroll Boss Location in Absolum
There is nothing special that you need to do to find Mushtroll in Absolum. Start a new run and take the first Ritual from the Wizard ghost at the base camp. Open the map/path selection screen before committing to your main route.
Look at the bottom right of the corner where you can spot a boulder blocking the Mouldy Cave entrance. Head to the location and smash the rock with repeated attacks (quick combo works best) to reveal the hidden cave.
Inside, you will first encounter 2-3 small rooms packed with mushroom mobs, beasts, and basic enemies. They are easy to clear, so it shouldn’t take long.
After clearing the rooms, you will end up in the main boss arena/room where Mushtroll is waiting for you.
How to Beat Mushtroll in Absolum
The boss fight with Mushtroll depends on how good you are at dodge and parry. Raw power over dodge/parry timing is what you need to focus on. Mushtroll’s attacks are slow but he hits hard.
Mushtroll Phase #1
Phase one of this boss features minions that keep spawning. The best thing you can do is not let them overwhelm you. Clear them and get behind the boss to attack it. The boss telegraphs its attacks to they are very easy to dodge sideways or parry for counters.
There is an arc attack that can be avoided by getting behind the Mushtroll.
Mushtroll Phase #2
In phase 2, the minions spawn faster so you need to take them down. On top of that, there are red attacks you can’t parry. The only way is to roll as soon as you see the red glow. Use running and heavy attacks for crowd control.
