Gravid Bowfin is also used in some cooking recipes which makes it even more valuable.
Gravid Bowfin Location in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Gravid Bowfin can be found in several locations across the game.
The first area you can find Gravid Bowfin is Windward Plains, particularly in the oasis of Area 13. Due to clear water and fewer fish, this is amongst the most recommended spots to view the Gravid Bowfin.
The second area is the Scarlet Forest. You’re going to want to get it out in the pool next to Kanya at the Base Camp, especially in the morning during a season of plenty.
I mostly found the Gravid Bowfin during dawn and dusk. These two times when this fish spawns frequently in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to Catch the Gravid Bowfin?
This fish is attracted to the Emerald Jitterbait lure, so take that with you. You can get this bait from one of Kanya’s quests.
Cast your line past where the Gravid Bowfin is likely to be and reel it in slowly. When the fish bites, press the reel-in button decisively.
As it is quite rare, you might have to reload the area or sleep at a close by campsite to alternate the time and season until it appears.
After catching the Gravid Bowfin, you’ll need to return it to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp to finish the “Fishing for Flavor” side quest. These rewards consist of Jeweled Mullet Roe, honey and Guild Points.
