How to Find and Use the Sarcophagus Key in Avowed

Once you reach the Garden in Avowed after completing the main quest “Ancient Soil”, you will come across a lot of legendary and super powerful items and materials.

As you are in the garden, you may come across the sarcophagus without having already found the key. Some players may find the coffin, while some may locate the key and be clueless about it.

Sarcophagus Key Location: Quick Look

You will find the key in the Garden on a skeleton near the Strangled Adra. It is a glowing purple skeleton, which is quite hard to miss, and is on a ledge that overlooks the Broken Aqueduct of the Garden.

Avowed: How to Get to the Sarcophagus Key and Use It

Head to the area where you fight 2 Maegfolc and open the locked door by activating the two Essence Generators nearby.

You step into a room of spider webs. With Margin’s Fury or Kai’s Firestarter, clear all the obstructions.

Head into the big pond room and take out all of the spiders and skeletons blocking your path. Head toward the door that opens into the flooded room.

Swim through the underwater tunnel and head left at the fork, until you get to a ledge overlooking the Eye of Rymgrand, as well as an opposite ledge blocked off by humungous branches.

Once again, use Margan’s Fury or Kai’s Firestarter to clear away the branches that are obstructing the other ledge.

Once the ledge on the opposite side is clear, you can freeze the surface with an Eye of Rymgrand or Ice Spell on the water’s surface to cross over.

Climb and continue along the way until you get to the ledge overlooking the Broken Aqueduct. It will lead you to the key’s location as we explained it earlier.

Look for the Skeleton with a glowing purple light and loot the key from it.

Jump down and activate the Essence Generator to open the door directly in front of the skeleton. Use Shock spells, or the Giatta companion ability to turn on the generator.

Once you are inside, move past the frozen Delemgans and take a left when you approach a broken staircase. Climb up and follow its path till you reach the Enclosed Grove Camp. On the map, it appears as a diamond-shaped room.

You will arrive at the point where you came from. Now go back to the Locked Sarcophagus through the door with the broken Maegfolc and go down the spiral staircase.

Use your Sarcophagus Key to unlock the Sarcophagus in a divot in the wall. Loot the Spirit Mender light armor from inside.
