Learning different skills and mechanics is crucial to progress through Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. One of these is fishing, which is great for leveling up as it provides you with a ton of XP. Learning the basics of fishing is crucial.
The fishing menu organizes species into three categories:
- City Harbor Fish – Early-game, easy to catch.
- Freshwater Fish – Mid-tier, varying rarity.
- Sea Water Fish – High-tier, with the potential for rare drops.
Each fish in the game comes with its own rarity level and size range that directly impact leaderboards and achievements.
How to Start Fishing in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
Firstly, you need to unlock fishing. For that, head to Asterleed’s Celestine Plaza waypoint. Go north to find the Fishing Guild Member. Speak to her and she will give you a Regular Rod and 5x Beginner Bait, and your task will be to catch an Asterca from the nearby Yacht Harbor.
Now, it’s pretty obvious from here. Just head to that place and follow the on-screen commands to catch the fish. Head back to the Fishing Guild Member, and the quest will end, rewarding you with the following items
- Regular Bait x5
- Precise Bait x5
- Luno (Bound) x300
- Adventurer EXP x30,000

- Press N to bring up the bait menu (more details below).
Completing the Fishing Mini-Game

Once you have selected your rod and bait, it’s time to start fishing. Here are some tips that will help:
- Press the LMB to cast.
- Once the exclamation mark appears, the fishing mini-game will begin.
- Hold down LMB to start reeling in the fish.
- When the fish is on the left side, press A.
- If it’s on the right side, press D.
- The meter will start filling up as you hold on to the fish.
- Keep the bar as low as possible.
- When the bar fills up, your line will snap.
- To successfully catch the fish, wait for the fish icon on the right side of the meter to make it completely to the left.
- Just keep releasing the rod to keep it engaged while not filling up the progress bar.
- Move the rod according to the fish’s movement.

Follow these instructions, and you won’t have any trouble catching the fish. Fishing highly depends on your fishing rods and the bait you are using.
How to Get Fishing Poles and Baits in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
As I mentioned above, you can purchase Fishing Rods from the Fishing Shop by pressing V while fishing. You can purchase Rods using Luno (Bound). By increasing your Fishing level, you will be able to unlock 3 types of fishing poles.
Fishing Pole | Use | How to Get |
Regular Fishing Pole | Increased reeling speed and fewer chances of randomly breaking | Default |
Sturdy Fishing Pole | Increased reeling speed and lesser chances of randomly breaking | Unlocks at Fishing Level 8 |
Flexible Fishing Pole | It is less sturdy and breaks quickly | Slightly higher chance of randomly breaking than the Sturdy Fishing Pole. Offers a slower line tension meter. |
What’s a good rod without a good bait? You can buy baits through the fishing menu and from fishing vendors, although requiring Luno (Bound) to buy. You can also craft various bait types, only if your Culinary skill is high enough after unlocking the required recipes.
Bait Type | Use | How to Get |
Regular Bait | Catches all trash and fish | Default |
Precise Bait | Catches only fish | Unlocks at Fishing / Culinary level 5. |
Special Bait | Catches all fish types, especially Mythical fish | Unlocks at Fishing Level 14 / Culinary Level 10 |
Getting Luno (Bound) in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
As I mentioned above, you need Luno (Bound) to buy fishing rods and baits. Here’s how to get them:
- Recycle ocean trash at the Ocean Garbage Recycler in Asterleeds in exchange for Luno (Bound).
- You can get Luno (Bound) through daily adventure activities.
That’s all for this Blue Protocol: Star Resonance guide on everything you need to know about fishing. I hope that this guide is helpful.
