Warhammer 40K: Darktide is mostly well optimized on PC now thanks to many patches that came out since launch but there are still some minor issues here and there.
For example, the Darktide visual bug can often pop up, especially for AMD users.
During one of the game’s segments, Psyker’s telekine shield, you will experience a visual bug when you activate the shield.
Psyker’s telekine shield turns into a rainbow which looks horrible and might end up giving someone a seizer.
How to Fix the Darktide Rainbow Shield Visual Bug
The root of the problem is in the Radeon Adrenalin. Players who have Anti-Lag turned on are the ones experiencing the Rainbow shield bug.
Launch the software that manages your AMD graphics settings and click on the Gaming tab in the Radeon Adrenalin interface.
Under the Graphics section, locate and toggle off Radeon™ Anti-Lag. This feature has been identified as a potential cause of the visual bug affecting the Psyker’s telekine shield.
If you don’t remember turning on Anti-Lag, who that this is also a default feature if you are on the HYPR-RX profile. Lastly, you can disable is specifically for Darktide even if you are using it globally.
If you continue to experience issues, consider updating your graphics drivers.
