Schedule 1 (v0.4.2 Shrooms Update) is out now and the AC Unit is your new best friend for temperature control. Since Shrooms require a cool room you will have to set up an AC unit in your production room.
Without cooling the mushrooms won’t grow. However, AC units aren’t available right away so you’ll need to progress to a certain point in the game to get them.
How to Unlock AC Units in Schedule 1
Grind early quests (weed/meth basics) to hit this milestone. It’s the gateway to advanced gear. Complete “Vibin’ on the ‘Cybin” Quest; it is the shrooms tutorial from Fungal Phil (unlocked via friendly reps with Elizabeth Homley or Kevin Oakley) tasks you with buying an AC. Finish it, and hardware stores stock them permanently.
There is an alternate method of getting the AC Unit as well. All you have to do is use the console command. Use the following cheat code to spawn 1x AC Unit in Schedule I:
- give acunit 1
This will bypass all required quests and give you the AC unit right away. Lastly, press ~ to open the command console in case you didn’t already know that.
But if yon want to do it the right way and have completed the requirement, go to any hardware stores to buy the AC unit.

Drop the AC unit near mushroom beds to start cooling the room for growing mushrooms. ACs aren’t required for everything but you do need them to grow mushrooms.
