There are a total of 67 unique armor sets in Avowed. These sets provide defensive capabilities, and some also boost attacks through unique attachments or passive effects.
One of these unique and pretty useful armors is Blackwing, which is great if you prefer stealth and precision. It boosts stealth attack damage and increases crouched movement speed, allowing players to move undetected and deal more powerful blows.
In this guide, we will learn everything you need to know about Blackwing Armor, including how to get it and its unique abilities.
We will also discuss how you can complete the Blackwing set by getting its gloves and boots.
Blackwing Armor Location and Stats
Blackwing Armor can be obtained during the An Untimely End main quest, which takes place in the City of Paradis. It is the third main quest in the game and takes place quite early. So, having a unique armor this early in the game is quite useful.
Players can get the Blackwing Armor from Ygwulf if they choose to attack him and ultimately kill him during the quest.
Ygwulf is the assassin who killed you with a poisoned arrow (you survived miraculously), and it is a natural move to take your revenge. However, you do get a couple of other options about what to do with him, and you may decide to let him go if you have a change of heart after listening to his reasons behind killing you.
But keep in mind that you’ll only get Blackwing Armor if you decide to kill him, and this is the only quest in which you can get this armor. If you let him go or have him confess to the Steel Garrote, you give up your only chance of obtaining this unique armor.
When you are finding the whereabouts of Ygwulf during the An Untimely Quest, you will meet Elowe, and she will give you the Cistern Key to access the Cistern Area.

You’ll get to talk to Ygwulf; listen to his story, but choose the attack option and kill him. Killing him is not going to be an easy task, so it is better to use a shield during the fight. Once you are done with him, you will get the Blackwing Armor, Ygwulf’s Key, 48 gold, and a health potion.
Killing Ygwulf will make Inquisitor Lodwyn very happy, and you will get 1500 coins from the ambassador. However, the Paradisan Rebels will not be very happy about it, and they’ll attack you whenever they get a chance. This is the price that you’ll have to pay if you want to get Ygwulf’s Blackwing Armor in Avowed.

Players can update the armors in the Workbench but they must have the armor material and Herbs of equal rarity to do so. When you upgrade an armor, the additional damage reduce is increased, but damage reduction, stamina, and essence stats are not affected.
