Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers players various Legendary Weapons for both Naoe and Yasuke. These weapons can be hard to get at times, as players only get them by unlocking Legendary Chests or as rewards for completing main missions across your journey in ancient Japan.
One such weapon is the Death Whisperer Kusarigama used by Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In this guide, we will explain how to get this weapon, its stats, and the best engraving for it.
How to Get Death Whisperer Kusarigama
Players can get the Death Whisperer Kusarigama in AC Shadows after you complete the main quest “Heads Will Roll” in the sixth chapter known as Rebuilding. It is one of the major chapters in the game and marks a pivotal point in the narrative.
In order to complete the mission “Heads Will Roll,” you have to eliminate a leader of the Shinbakufu tribe by the name of Wada Koretake, also known as The Wounded. The quest is listed under the name of The Wounded in The Onyro section of the Objectives board.
Heads Will Roll Quest
It is the final mission in The Wounded questline. The quest takes place in the Amagasaki Castle, where Naoe will have to assault the castle, take out snipers, attack Wada Koretake, and make an important decision about whether to spare or kill the guard.
Meet with Kyonyo near Amagasaki Castle
The first task in the quest is to meet the people east of the castle by the river. Their leader is Kyonyo, and they are preparing to take Amagasaki Castle from the Shinbakufu people.
However, you cannot speak to Kyonyo until you step into the void appearing on your screen. Step into the void, and you will get a thrilling sequence that ends with a suggestion to take the Animus System tutorial. You can either attend it or simply walk up to Kyonyo to speak to him.
During their conversation, Naoe gives him the statue she acquired during the Stolen Faith quest. After this, Kyonyo asks if she is ready to assault the castle. You can either start the battle by picking “I’m ready to fight” or delay it by selecting “I’m not ready yet.”
Assault Amagasaki Castle
The next task in the quest is to attack the castle. Naoe, Kyonyo, and Yaya arrive at the gate of the castle, where they are joined by the Mitsumune. After the cutscene is over, you arrive at the castle walls with a replenished supply of rations and tools.
The next task is to kill the snipers hiding along the walls of the castle. You can keep track of the snipers by looking at the objective markers above their heads on the HUD compass. There are plenty of them around, so make sure you use Naoe’s stealth abilities to the best and find your way to Wada Koretake (The Wounded).
Kill Wada Koretake
Wada Koretake is in the castle courtyard. You can find this place by getting atop the closest building and look for an open space with yellow banners. On the map, it appears exactly to the north of the center point. There is a small group of guards surrounding Koretake. You’ll have to remove the guards before trying to kill him. Use Naoe’s Eagle Vision and Observe abilities to locate your targets.
First of all, take out the guard in the southernmost building. You can refuel Naoe, as there is a box of rations available in the house. Get back to the roof and reach to the building to the west and swing closest to Koretake. Be very careful, as you can be spotted by snipers. There will be a guard standing at your landing point, but he will be unaware of your arrival; take him down. Be vigilant, as the other guard can spot you.
Now you can easily arrive at the top of Koretake. Wait for the moment when you can take him down in one clean swoop, and then take the jump.
Just a tip: turn on Guaranteed Assassination from settings before attempting this mission, as it will ensure you get your target in one single hit.
Choice: Kill or Spare
As for the consequences, Mitsumune wants to kill a guard to avenge his soldiers, but you have to make a decision here. You can either let the guard go or let Mitsumune have his say. The decision you make impacts Yaya. If you let Mitsumune kill the guard, it will be very hard for you to make Yaya an ally later in the game.
Reward: Death Whisperer
Once the Heads Will Roll quest is complete, you get your prized reward in the form of “Death Whisperer.”
