Fresh water is not only a requirement for a healthy life in the real world but also for thriving in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Fresh Water is a medicine-type item in the game. It restores 30 HP to a Pokémon when used.
It’s described in-game as:
“Water with high mineral content. It can also be used to restore 30 HP to a Pokémon.”
It might not sound like much but it is easy to access the item to keep your team healthy. Especially, during early game and side quests.

Where to Find Fresh Water
There are three main ways to get Fresh Water in Pokémon Legends: Z-A: by purchasing it, earning it as a side mission reward, or finding it in the overworld. The following are all the locations where you can buy Fresh Water.

Earn It from Side Missions
Some side missions reward you with Fresh Water.
One known example is:
- “Show Me a Mega Camerupt!” (Rank F) — rewards Fresh Water ×2 upon completion.
Other Rank F side missions may also include Fresh Water among their rewards, so it’s worth checking the Mission Board regularly.
Find It in the World
And finally you can find Fresh Water in the overworld. Bottles are scattered in the environment and sometimes dropped by NPCs near stalls or even give to you for free. One confirmed spawn appears at coordinates X:11852 Y:7635 in Lumiose City, where an NPC offers it after a brief dialogue.
You will find plenty of Fresh Water as you explore the game. But I haven’t seen any Fresh Water inside Wild Zones so you’ll have to look outside these zones.
Once you have Fresh Water, simply access your Bag and go to the Medicine Pocket. Select Fresh Water and choose the Pokemon you want to heal. It’ll restore 30HP of the selected Pokemon.
