Hats in Ghost of Yotei are cosmetic only, but they are a great way to look really cool. I loved the Iron Spirit Hat, but I found an even better hat for you, the hidden Golden Fire Hat. It is a great collectible to have but as I mentioned, there are no buffs or perks attached to the helmets in this game.

Go to the Teshio Ridge region of the map where you need to find Saito Outlaws. This northern region can be accessed as you progress the main story it’s where several late-game quests and bounty take place.
The Saito Outlaws are heavily armed samurai enemies that sometimes roam Teshio Ridge in packs with their dog companions. Normally, you would take down enemies but since this is a hidden helmet, the way to get it is to be defeated by the outlaws.
Yes, let them defeat you and take you back to their camp. After being defeated and captured, you’ll respawn inside the Saito Outlaws’ camp. Get yourself free and loot the camp while killing anyone who tries to stop you.
There should be a purple chest in the camp which contains the Golden Fire Hat.
This chest is guaranteed to contain the Golden Fire Hat, a cosmetic headpiece marked by its distinctive shimmering white-and-gold design and its lore-driven description: “Leaves burn. Roots remain.”
