Just like Fuel and Coal, Goods are also one of the resources in Frostpunk 2. Compared to other resources Goods are a bit easier to find I would say, and you will have to keep a high supply of Goods to make sure Crime rate is your city is low.
But Goods are also required to keep a high supply of Heatmaps. If you don’t already know, Heatmaps are one of the items you need to expand your Housing District and build a Research Institute.
If you want to check how much Goods you have, hover over the pot icon at the top of the screen.
How to Increase Goods Production in Frostpunk 2
The easiest way to increase Goods production and output is to build and expand your Industrial Districts.

By default, the Industrial Districts produce Prefabs. Manually switch production from Prefabs to Goods to get an immediate boost of 25 Goods output.
This is essential as your city grows and the demand for Goods increases. With low population is it easy to manage the supply of Goods but when the numbers go up, you’ll need to increase Goods production.
After constructing an Industrial District, you can expand it by clicking the arrow icon in the information pane. This expansion increases the output from 25 to 30 Goods.
To focus on Goods, manually switch the production type by selecting the district and clicking on the pot icon in the information pane.

Build Factories in Industrial Districts
Inside the Industrial Districts you can build more factories to increase production of Goods and Prefabs.
For instance, a Calibrated Goods Factory can yield 60 Goods while still producing Prefabs. This dual production helps maintain a steady supply of both resources.
Make sure to invest in research from the Idea Tree to unlock advanced factories like Mechanical and Refurbished Goods Factories.
Pass Laws to Increase Goods Production
Pass relevant laws that help boost Goods production. Laws such as Mass-Produced Goods and Durable Goods can significantly improve production.
These laws are found under the Resources section in the Survival category.
Note: Activate the Emergency Shift ability in your Industrial Districts to double your output temporarily. However, use this with caution as it can negatively impact worker health and morale.
Another great way to boost Goods production is focusing on Heat Overclocking and Rail Hub technologies. They help increase Goods production significantly across the entire district.
Increase Goods Production Efficiency
To see how Production Efficiency affects your Goods output:
- Select an Industrial District
- Look at the information pane that appears
- Find the “Total Output” section
- Hover over the pot icon
- Look under “Base Modifiers”
Increasing Production Efficiency will boost the output of all resource types, not just Goods.

Method | Description |
---|---|
Pass the Goods Law | Enact the “Mass-Produced Goods” Law found in the Resources section under Survival. Alternatively, consider the “Durable Goods” Law to reduce Goods demand. |
Pass the Basic Necessities Law | Implement the “Paid Essentials” Law located in the City section under Welfare. |
Research Heat Overclocking | Explore the “Waste Heat Conversion” node at the top of the Idea Tree’s Resources section. |
Build a Rail Hub | Research an idea in the “Rail Hub” node (found at the top of the Idea Tree’s Hubs section) and construct a Rail Hub adjacent to a Goods-producing Industrial District. |
Activate Emergency Shifts | Choose a Goods-producing Industrial District and enable its “Emergency Shifts” ability. |
