Pathologic 3 launched with a very detailed crafting system earlier this month. Surviving the plague depends a lot on learning how to craft and getting new recipes. This is important even though you can buy more of the items, but crafting is a must to refill the Prototype.
Crafting revolves around the Stillwater Institute, blending survival mechanics with story progression. It’s not grindy like other games; focus on Prototype loads for safe exploration and optional buffs like Taurine or Apathy/Mania boosters.
How to Access Crafting Stations
Crafting in Pathologic 3 is exclusive to the Stillwater Institute. The crafting option is unlocked on Day 3 via time travel. Go to the Ground/first floor and enter the room with multiple desks covered in equipment (use Concentration Mode to spot interactables under sheets).

| Station | Purpose | Location in Room |
|---|---|---|
| Prototype Machine | Refill/load Prototype (tutorial-style) | Main desk |
| General Crafting Desk | Taurine, drugs, etc. | Opposite desk |
Approach and press the prompted button. Go through the tutorial if you are using it for the first time.
How to get New Recipes in Pathologic 3
When it comes to simple products, you don’t need to acquire recipes, but complex synthesis that involve more than three ingredients require recipes. Mostly, you will get the recipes from kid Vendors.

To get recipes from them, you need to trade for the materials that you have in your inventory. It works like a barter system.

For that barter system to work, you need items in your inventory so you can trade. Every time you visit these kid vendors, they have new recipes in their inventory.
Recipe Cost: Each recipe costs you 8 units. I would recommend having nuts and marbles. To have a recipe, you need one marble and three nuts.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Nuts | 1 |
| Marbles | 5 |
| Recipie | 8 |
These kid vendors also offer items that increase your mania and Apathy, that you don’t need to craft all the time, just buy these items from the children vendors around the town.
