Finding artifacts in Stalker 2 is done through artifact detectors but the initial detector you get, Echo, is pretty useful when you reach later stages of the game. HILKA and Bear detectors are better but there is nothing that beats the Veles Detector.
Veles is the best artifact detector in Stalker 2. Its precision is unmatched and it’s most easy to use. You get a small radar display those pulses and scans the areas for artifacts.
If and when an artifact is nearby you will see a tiny red dot on the Veles display. Follow it and you will end up on the artifact.
Note: You can use artifact cheats to get Veles but if you’re into modding then follow the rules.
Getting Veles Detector in Stalker 2
To obtain the Veles Detector in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you need to complete a specific main story mission titled “In Search of Past Glory.”
Keep playing the main story until you reach and complete the aforementioned mission. It is one of the later missions in Stalker 2. To be exact, it is 21st out of a total of 35 main missions.
After you complete the mission, go back to Dr. Dvupalov with the Blueprint for a psi-radiation suppressor back to Dr. Dvupalov. Upon doing so, he will reward you with the Veles Detector.
If you miss out on receiving it or if you accidentally sell it, vendors in the Zone will start selling the Veles Detector after you complete the mission. This option allows for repurchasing if needed.
In addition to locating nearby artifacts, the Veles artifact detector also spots nearby anomalies.
