In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, like the other Assassin’s Creed games, the player is given the ability to customize the appearance of the characters they control.
It doesn’t matter if you are controlling Naoe or Yasuke, you can change the look of your character if you so desire.
Hiding the helmet or gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows has no effect on your protagonist’s stats or bonuses; it is just a game setting; you will not be able to tell the difference when playing the game.
Come find out how to make your helmet or armor (gear) invisible for Naoe or Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
How to Hide Helmet in AC Shadows
Naoe and Yasuke will always wear a helmet after you get your first set of headgear, but they do show a bit of their face during cut scenes.
The process of taking off the helmet for your character in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is very simple and can be done quite fast.
To do this, pause the game and go to the options menu where you will find the “inventory”.
Once in the Inventory menu, scroll over to your helmet and look at the lower right corner of the screen; you will see a command that says “Hide Gear”. If you are playing on PS5, it is R2 and RT on Xbox.

How to Hide Armor in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You also have the ability to make the character wear no armor at all though it looks rather strange for both Naoe and Yasuke and you might want to put the armor back on after a while, just as I did.
To hide the body armor, just do the same as with the helmet: Pause > Inventory menu > Select the piece of armor > Use the command “Hide Gear”.
So, that’s how you can make your helmet or body armor invisible in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
